Rain B Kitchen ("the app", "we", "us") is built with privacy in mind. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data. This page explains exactly what is stored, where it goes, and the choices you have.
1 Data we store on your device
Everything you create in the app stays locally on your device using the system key–value store (NSUserDefaults). This includes:
- Favorites & collections Recipes and cocktails you save.
- Meal planner & shopping list Items you add for planning.
- Profile & preferences Display name and dietary settings you enter.
- Cached content A copy of home-screen content, stored in encrypted form so the app can launch offline.
This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.
2 Third-party content providers
Recipes, cocktails and packaged-food information are fetched live from public APIs. We send only the search terms or item identifiers needed to return results — never your identity or personal data.
- TheMealDB — recipe and meal data
- TheCocktailDB — drinks and cocktails
- Open Food Facts — packaged-product nutrition
These services may log standard request metadata (such as IP address) as described in their own privacy policies. We do not control those services.
3 Analytics & tracking
This build includes no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you or follow you across apps or websites.
4 Permissions
The app requests only what a feature needs at the moment it needs it — for example a network connection to load content. It does not access your contacts, photos, or location in the background.
5 Children's privacy
Rain B Kitchen is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6 Your choices
- Clear all locally stored data at any time by deleting the app.
- Use the app without creating an account or providing personal details.
- Disable network access to browse only your saved, on-device content.
7 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app means you accept the current version.
